Suntory Hakushu 25 Year Old (43%)

Hakushu 25 Year Old is a Japanese single malt, bottled at 43%. The distillery stands in the southern Alps of Japan, among the mountain forests around Mount Kaikomagatake, and the setting is credited with giving the whisky a gentle aromatic softness. It is described as deep, fresh and smoky. Lavender, sage, cooked pineapple and crème brûlée feature among its notes, and the nose brings ripe fruit, chocolate and vanilla. The finish is long and lingering, with smoke and fruit.
