Suntory Toki is a blended Japanese whisky bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It draws on the Hakushu, Yamazaki and Chita distilleries.
Its blend is built on what Suntory's chief blender, Shinji Fukuyo, calls reverse blending: Chita grain whisky stands level with Hakushu malt, which is aged in American white oak, with a little Yamazaki malt added.
The nose is green apple, lemon oil, basil and cut grass, with honeysuckle and light caramel. The palate offers honey, toasted marshmallow and white pepper, with green grape and grapefruit. The finish is crisp, with peppermint, thyme and a trace of oak.
