This is a 14 year old Talisker from the 2025 Special Releases, in a 75cl bottle at 53.9% ABV.
The whisky matured first in ex-bourbon casks, then was finished in new American oak casks that had been toasted using the radiant heat of volcanic rocks from Skye. It is an unusual finishing method, and it is what sets this expression apart.
The combination is described as bringing a rush of maritime sweet smoke and spice.
