This is a 25-year-old single malt from Talisker, the oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye, in Carbost. It matured for 25 years in a combination of Bourbon and sherry casks, and is bottled at 45.8% ABV.
The nose is usually described as a cool sea breeze with seaweed, clear saltiness and a restrained, almost volcanic smoke.
On the palate it is full and earthy, with the bitter sweetness of dark chocolate, ripe berries and sweet fruit. Salty notes sit alongside a growing Talisker pepper.
