Talisker – 32 Year Old 50th Anniversary Kirsch Import (58.4%)

This is a 32 year old Talisker single malt from the Isle of Skye, bottled for the 50th anniversary of Kirsch Import. It was distilled in 1993 and matured in refill wood and charred American oak casks, then bottled at a cask strength of 58.4% without chill-filtration or added colour. The release runs to 156 bottles. The refill casks are described as keeping the character of the spirit, while the charred oak adds spice, gentle sweetness and light roasted notes. The nose is described as a salty sea breeze with herbal smoke and ripe fruit. On the palate, Talisker's peppery spice meets creamy caramel and fine vanilla, with the smoke staying present throughout.
