Talisker 45 Year Expedition Oak Series Glacial Edge is a single malt from the Isle of Skye, bottled at 49.8% in a 700ml bottle. Only 2,455 bottles were released. The whisky matured for 45 years in American oak ex-bourbon barrels. It was then finished in twelve heavily charred American oak casks, which had their heads removed and were left in Canada's ice fields for 96 hours. Sub-zero temperatures and Arctic winds cracked the staves, allowing more contact between wood and whisky. The nose combines seaweed, iodine and campfire smoke with apricot and honey. The palate moves from toffee and salted caramel to black pepper, cinnamon and chilli. The finish is very long, with dark chocolate, sea salt and soft peat.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
