A 45 year old single malt from Talisker on the Isle of Skye, released as Parley, Glacial Edge. Only 2,455 bottles were filled.
The whisky was finished in Ice Fractured Casks, whose staves are exposed to extreme cold. This creates very fine cracks in the wood and increases the contact between the aged spirit and the cask.
On the nose it is described as showing seaweed, sea salt and mineral notes with a faint touch of smoke, over dried fruit, soft vanilla and sandalwood. The palate is oily and full, with buttery toffee, creamy caramel and a fine maritime saltiness.
