This Talisker 8 Year Old was released as part of the 2020 Diageo Special Releases. It was finished in Caribbean rum casks and bottled at a natural cask strength of 57.9% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The notes describe deep caramel on the nose, balanced by sea salt, dry seaweed and warm sand over a smoky barbecue base. The palate is smooth, rich and sweet before the Talisker heat builds with salt and chilli pepper, ending smoky, peppery and drying.
