Talisker – Distillers Edition 2022 (45.8%)

This is the 2022 Distillers Edition of Talisker, a single malt from the Isle of Skye bottled at 45.8%. After its main maturation it was finished in Amoroso seasoned American oak casks. Amoroso is a sherry style that combines the dry character of an Oloroso with some of the rich sweetness of Pedro Ximénez. The finish is said to bring fruity and sweet notes without hiding the coastal character of the whisky. The nose is described as maritime peat smoke with seaweed, dates and fresh citrus. On the palate come malt, ripe pineapple and apple, then Talisker's pepper alongside dense smoke.
