Talisker – Port Ruighe (70cl, 45.8%)

Talisker Port Ruighe is a single malt from the Isle of Skye, finished in Ruby Port casks and bottled at 45.8% in a 70cl bottle. The name comes from the largest village on the island. The Port finish brings plenty of fruit and softness to the distillery's usual coastal character. The nose opens with sea spray, then moves to orange peel and a hint of white chocolate. On the palate the familiar Talisker brine comes first, though it is much sweeter than usual, and the smoke builds steadily, stronger than the nose suggests. The finish runs from milk chocolate to cocoa and oak with notes of mocha, and a faint trace of orange pith.
