Talisker Surge is a single malt from the Isle of Skye, matured entirely in ex-bourbon casks and first released in 2022. It is bottled at 45.8% in a 70cl bottle.
The maritime, smoky character typical of the distillery meets a pleasantly sweet bourbon influence.
The nose is delicate, sweet and fruity, with red berries, orange peel, raisins and green apple. On the palate dark chocolate, cherries, redcurrants and ginger stand out, followed by peat, undergrowth, young oak and a little smoke.
