Talisker The Distillers Edition is an annual release of the Skye single malt, here the 2022 edition, bottled at 45.8% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matures for ten years in ex-bourbon casks, then spends several months in seasoned Amoroso sherry casks. It is lightly smoky, with a sweetness set against the peppery character of the distillery.
The nose combines peppery spice, a little smoke, sea salt and raisin-like sweetness. The palate is full and fresh, with peat, malt, sherry and juicy fruit. The finish is medium in length, with cocoa, earthy peat and spice.
