Talisker Wilder Seas is a single malt from the Isle of Skye, made in collaboration with Parley. It is described as the first Skye whisky matured in French oak XO cognac casks, and it is a limited edition.
The bottle is made from 100% recycled material, and a donation included with each one supports projects protecting marine forests off the coasts of Scotland, South Africa and Chile.
The nose combines malt bread with sultanas, dates and dried figs, then chalk, brine and sea air, with a little pipe tobacco. The palate is creamy, sweet then salty, smoky and fruity, with pepper. The finish is long, warming and slightly drying.
