Tamdhu 10 Year Old is a Speyside single malt matured in sherry casks, with European and American oak chosen for its maturation. Tamdhu Distillery was founded in 1897 on the banks of the River Spey. It closed in 2010 and was bought by the family-owned Ian Macleod in 2011, with production restarting in 2012. The nose is vanilla and sugar-roasted almonds, with fresh oak and cinnamon. The palate begins with fruit and spice, followed by gentle caramel and oak. The finish starts with fruit and vanilla, then turns pleasantly dry with a hint of smoke.
