Tamdhu 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt matured in Oloroso sherry casks of both European and American oak. It is the first release in the distillery's collection of slowly matured whiskies, and it has a natural colour.
Tamdhu is a Scottish distillery with a history going back to 1897.
The nose offers iced cinnamon rolls dipped in orange sweets, fresh sweet oak and raisins with a faint hint of mint. On the palate the texture is silky, with banana, berry jam, malted biscuit and classic sherry oak depth. The finish is long and balanced, with ground spice and dried fruit, and a little soft peat smoke at the very end.
