Tamdhu 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from the distillery at Knockando, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle at natural colour.
All of it is aged in Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez, a mix of first-fill and refill casks made from American and European oak. Tamdhu was founded in 1897 and matures its whisky only in sherry casks.
The nose offers dried fruit, orange peel and vanilla with cinnamon, toasted oak and a hint of chocolate. On the palate come sultanas, ripe plum, baked apple, honeyed malt and toffee. The finish is long, with dried fruit, oak spice, cocoa and a faint trace of smoke.
