Tamdhu – Batch Strength Batch 006 (70cl, 56.8%)

This is Batch 006 of Tamdhu Batch Strength, a Speyside single malt from the distillery's own bottling range, in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was aged in first fill and refill sherry casks and bottled at the strength it came out at, which for this batch is 56.8%. The nose combines the fresh spice of oak with roasted nuts and warming vanilla. On the palate it recalls summer berry pudding with crème anglaise, and a dash of water brings out orange, lemon and more oak spice. The finish builds with cinnamon, then fades slowly through citrus zest and ripe figs.
