This is a 10 Year Old tawny port from Taylor Fladgate, a house founded in 1692 and still family run. The firm is known for its vintage ports and long-aged tawnies, and for its late bottled vintage style.
It has a deep brick colour with an amber rim. The nose is rich and elegant, with ripe berry fruit, a delicate nuttiness and mellow notes of chocolate, butterscotch and fine oak. The palate is smooth and silky, full of ripe, figgy, jammy flavours that carry through a long finish. It is a sweet port.
