Taylor Madeira is an American fortified wine in the Madeira style, made from Concord grapes in New York's Finger Lakes region by the Taylor Wine Company. It is medium-sweet and full in body. The wine is heated and oxidised to approximate the caramelised, nutty character of traditional Madeira, though the Concord base gives it a grapey undertone of its own. The nose is roasted almonds with dried fruit, a light earthy warmth and a subtle zesty note. The palate has toasted nuts and dried fruit with a zesty richness. The finish is smooth and of moderate length, with nutty and dried fruit notes and a gentle warmth.
