Taylor Marsala (75cl, 18%)

Taylor Marsala is a medium-sweet fortified wine from The Taylor Wine Company in the Finger Lakes region of New York. It is made from New York State Concord grapes, a thick-skinned, aromatic American native variety, and fortified with grape spirit to 18% ABV. The Concord grapes give it a sweet, jammy, fruit-forward character. The nose shows ripe peach with a tangy tamarind note, then caramel and toasted nuts. On the palate, peach gives way to rhubarb and sweet strawberry, with brown spice, orange zest and a raisin-like richness. The finish is moderately long and creamy, with dried fruit, nut and gentle caramel, kept fresh by bright acidity.
