TBWC Armorik Batch 3 8 Year Old Single Malt Whisky (50cl, 59.3%)

This is the third release from the Armorik distillery, an 8 year old single malt in a 50cl bottle. It was finished in an ex-Chouchen cask and bottled at natural cask strength, 59.3% ABV. Chouchen is a traditional Breton drink, a mead made by fermenting honey in water. Buckwheat honey is customary, and fermentation begins with freshly pressed apple juice. Armorik was the first French whisky distillery, run by Distillerie Warenghem, which had historically made fruit and herb liqueurs. Dr Jim Swan reviewed its equipment and techniques, suggesting small changes such as adjusting the angle of the lyne arm.
