The Balvenie 12 Year Old American Oak is a single malt at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
Apprentice Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie wanted a fruitier, sweeter Balvenie and brought virgin oak barrels over from Kentucky. These were deeply toasted at The Balvenie Cooperage, then filled with Balvenie that had been aged in ex-bourbon barrels.
It is described as a complex whisky with candied fruit, coconut and delicate vanilla.
