A 12 year old Speyside single malt from Balvenie, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It takes its character from two types of wood.
During maturation the whisky moves from a traditional oak whisky cask to a first-fill European oak sherry cask. The traditional cask softens it and adds character, while the sherry wood brings depth and fullness of flavour.
The nose is typically described as sweet fruit and Oloroso sherry layered with honey and vanilla. The palate is smooth and mellow, with nutty sweetness, cinnamon spice and a delicate layer of sherry, and the finish is long and warming.
