The Balvenie – 12 Year Old The 1931 Collection Limited Edition (70cl, 47.5%)

This is a limited-edition 12 year old Speyside single malt from The Balvenie, bottled at 47.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was inspired by the distillery's 88-year-old whisky distilled in 1931, and made with 100% home-malted barley. The whisky was first matured in American oak casks, then finished in European oak ex-Sherry butts from Jerez, Spain. The packaging was designed in collaboration with the artist Daniel Arsham. The nose offers warm biscuits, honey, creamy toffee and fragrant oak. On the palate, mellow barley sugar leads to crystallised ginger, delicate raisins and warming spices, and the finish is smooth and velvety with lingering sweetness.
