The Balvenie 14 Year Old American Bourbon Barrel - A Collection of Curious Casks (70cl, 47.8%)

A 14 year old single malt from The Balvenie, bottled at 47.8% in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to A Collection of Curious Casks, a range of single cask releases within the Stories range. This whisky was destined to become a Single Barrel 12, but it was distilled just after peat week, so a whisper of smokiness found its way into the spirit. That smoke sits alongside the rich character given by the Bourbon cask over 14 years of maturation. Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie and Warehouse Co-Ordinator George Paterson chose the casks for the collection together.
