The Balvenie Caribbean Cask is a 14 year old Speyside single malt, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV.
It is matured for 14 years in traditional oak whisky casks, then finished in casks that previously held Caribbean rum, which add sweetness and depth to the whisky.
The nose is rich, with creamy toffee and fresh fruit. On the palate come vanilla, sweet oak and gently unfolding fruit. The finish is soft and lingering, with the rum casks adding warmth and richness without overpowering the character of the whisky.
