This is a 15-year-old Speyside single malt from The Balvenie, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is finished in casks that previously held sweet Madeira wine, and is described as lively and summery.
Malt Master David C. Stewart enjoyed exploring the Madeira region and its wines, and that interest led him to experiment with the cask type for finishing. Madeira casks were once carried on ships around the New World, where the heat of the sun naturally sweetened the wine inside.
