The Balvenie – 15 Years Madeira Cask (70cl, 43%)

The Balvenie 15 Years Madeira Cask is a Speyside single malt from Dufftown, matured for fifteen years in traditional American oak and then finished in casks that held Madeira. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The American oak provides honey and vanilla, while the Madeira casks add ripe fruit, citrus and nutty notes. The distillery is one of the few in Scotland with its own floor maltings. The nose offers blackcurrant, blackberry, ginger syrup and light spice. The palate brings ripe peach, orange peel, hazelnut and dry oak, and the finish is long, with fruit and honey.
