The Balvenie 18 Years PX Cask is a Speyside single malt from Dufftown, matured for eighteen years in American oak and then finished in casks that held Pedro Ximénez sherry. It is bottled at 48.7% in a 70cl bottle.
Honey and vanilla from the American oak remain the base, while the PX casks add dark and dried fruit, with citrus and clove keeping it fresh. Raisin, currant and clove lead the nose, with a hint of lavender. The palate shows grape skin, mandarin, fig and honey, and the finish is soft and long.
