The Balvenie 21 Year Old Portwood is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 40%. It was first released in 1996.
The malt is moved into port casks, known as pipes, which have held port wine. Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE samples it regularly to judge how much character the casks add, so that the original character of the whisky is kept.
Since its release it has won a number of industry awards.
