The Balvenie 25 Years Old Rare Marriages is a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle, matured for 25 years in traditional oak casks.
The Rare Marriages name refers to the way the Malt Master selects whiskies of high quality and age from the distillery's traditional oak casks and marries them in a large oak tun for several months.
The nose combines sweet honey and dried fruits with toasted oak, vanilla fudge and a hint of cinnamon. The palate is velvety, with caramelised orange peel, dark chocolate, gentle nuttiness, ginger, nutmeg and heather honey. The finish is very long and warming, with rich oak, sweet spice and a whisper of dried fruit.
