This 12 year old from The Balvenie belongs to the Balvenie Stories series, in which each bottling has a tale behind it. The name refers to American oak casks from the Kelvin cooperage, where a mix of twelve-year-old whiskies came together.
On arrival in Scotland the casks are toasted again on the inside, an idea of Kelsey McKechnie, malt master at The Balvenie.
Layers of vanilla run through the whisky.
