The Balvenie The Sweet Toast Of American Oak is a 12 year old single malt, and the first story in The Balvenie Story Series. It began with an aim to make a fruitier, sweeter Balvenie.
To get there, the apprentice malt master brought in virgin oak barrels from Kentucky. These were deeply toasted at The Balvenie Cooperage and then filled with Balvenie that had been aged in ex-bourbon barrels.
The tasting notes describe candied fruit, coconut and delicate vanilla.
