Cinder & Smoke is a Kentucky straight bourbon from The Bard Distillery in Graham, Muhlenberg County, bottled at 50% vol. It is hand-blended in very small batches and finished in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks.
The distillery was founded in 2019 by Thomas and Kim Bard and sits in a restored 1920s Art Deco school building, where the whiskey matures in former classrooms with original cinder block walls.
The nose offers toffee, toasting marshmallows, raisins and dark cherries, with soft smoke and toasted oak. On the palate, sherry-soaked fruit and caramel meet cocoa and baking spices. The finish is long, smoky and drying, with dark chocolate and oak.
