This is a 12 year old single cask BenRiach, filled into an oloroso sherry butt in 2005. It is the distillery's 15th batch of single cask bottlings and was bottled at a natural strength of 58.1% in a 70cl bottle.
The fruit character is heavier than in the classic BenRiach style. The nose offers golden syrup, apple, apricot and yellow plum, moving to fresh brioche with raisins. On the palate the sherry cask shows through, with raisin, sultana and treacle, caramelised orange and a tang of red apple.
