This is a 23 year old Speyside single malt from BenRiach, from 1995 and Batch 16. It is a peated whisky matured in an Oloroso butt, and bottled at 51.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The colour is antique gold.
The nose is intense smoked vanilla with orange and ground ginger, then pear and smoked applewood alongside nutmeg and cherry tree bark. On the palate, apple and calvados come with guava, acacia honey and sweet birch. The very long finish leaves nutmeg and roasted apple.
