This is a 23 year old single malt from The BenRiach, distilled in 1995 and bottled from cask 7385 as part of Batch 16. It is a peated malt, matured in an Oloroso sherry butt, and bottled at 51.7% in a 70cl bottle.
The colour is antique gold. The nose is smoked vanilla with orange and ground ginger, followed by pear, smoked applewood, nutmeg and cherry tree bark. On the palate, apple and calvados come with guava, acacia honey and sweet birch. The finish is very long, leaving nutmeg and roasted apple.
