The BenRiach The Original Ten (70cl, 43%)

The Original Ten is a Speyside single malt from BenRiach, matured for at least ten years in three kinds of cask: bourbon barrels, sherry casks and virgin oak casks. The whisky from each is married together before bottling at 43% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. Orchard fruit, honeyed malt and toasted oak run through it, with a faint trace of smoke. The colour is summer gold. The nose offers rich orchard fruits, honey and toasted oak. On the palate come ripe pear, nectarine and malty sweetness, ending on almond and spiced vanilla.
