The Black Grouse is a blended Scotch whisky in a one-litre bottle. It follows the original Famous Grouse recipe, with smokier, peatier malts added. The Famous Grouse was launched in 1896 by Matthew Gloag & Sons and trademarked by the company in 1905. The brand passed to Highland Distillers in 1970 and is now owned by Edrington.
