The Borders Distillery 8 Year Old Single Malt First Release is the distillery's inaugural single malt, in a 70cl bottle and limited to 10,000 bottles.
The whisky was matured first in first-fill bourbon barrels, then given a final maturation in Madeira casks. The bourbon casks bring caramel, vanilla and honey with a soft, rounded sweetness, while the Madeira adds sultana flavours, gentle warmth and more depth.
It is described as smooth, elegant and fruit-forward.
