This is a 12 year old single malt from The Dalmore in Alness, bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
It is matured in casks seasoned with a blend of oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry, sourced from three cooperages in Jerez de la Frontera, and is described as giving twice the sherry influence of the standard Dalmore 12. The oloroso brings dry, nutty notes and the Pedro Ximénez sweetness.
The nose is dark chocolate, roasted coffee, rich sherry, dried figs and caramelised orange. The palate has sweet raisins, spiced caramel and chocolate orange, and the finish is long and warming with dark fruit, cocoa and gentle oak.
