This is a 21 year old Highland single malt from The Dalmore, bottled at 43.8% ABV. It was matured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and first-fill sherry casks that previously held 30 year old Matusalem Oloroso, selected from the González Byass bodega.
It sits at the top of the distillery's Principal Collection.
The nose is dark, with bitter dark chocolate, ripe Seville oranges, Colombian coffee and toffee apple. The palate is lush, with sweet liquorice, Black Forest fruits, roasted walnuts and thick marzipan. The finish is persistent, with ginseng, pear tarte tatin and blood oranges.
