The English Chapter 18 is a single malt made to mark the coming of age of The English Distillery, which began in 2006. It is a limited edition, and each bottle is individually numbered. It is bottled at 46% ABV.
The whisky is a selection of casks filled between 10 and 18 years ago, including American Standard Barrels, Pedro Ximenez sherry casks and virgin oak. Most of it is unpeated, with a small share of peated spirit added.
The nose offers caramel, cinnamon, red berries and soft vanilla. The palate is stewed fruits, rhubarb and custard, oak, toffee and a touch of spice. The finish is long and warming, with brown sugar and cinnamon.
