This is The Famous Grouse from the 1980s, a blended Scotch whisky bottled at 43% ABV in a one-litre bottle.
The colour is a vibrant gold, and the whisky is oily in the glass and on the palate. The nose offers sweetness with dark chocolate, cherries, candied fruit and sherry notes; water brings out oak and floral tones.
The palate shows honey, oak and gentle spice, and with water, shortbread, rich malt and more floral notes. It is medium-bodied and smooth, with a medium finish of oak and sweetness.
