Mountain Pass is a Canadian whisky from The Fort Distillery in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, and a double gold winner. It is made from a 100% corn mashbill and aged in ex-bourbon barrels for a blend of 4 to 6 years.
The whisky is proofed down to 40% with Rocky Mountain glacier water.
The nose opens with dried corn cobs, vanilla bean and butterscotch, followed by toasted grain, light cinnamon and soft oak. The palate is soft, with vanilla, butterscotch and sweet grass, then light baking spice, dried fruit and toasted oak. The finish is short to medium, drying and crisp, with sweet corn and warm oak spice.
