The Glenlivet 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in a mix of European and American oak casks, and made with water from Josie's Well and distilled in lantern-shaped copper stills.
The distillery was founded in 1824 and was the first legal distillery in the parish of Glenlivet, born from the vision of George Smith.
The nose is fresh orchard fruit, summer flowers and a touch of sweet citrus. On the palate come pear, ripe apple, vanilla cream and subtle honey, followed by a light, clean, slightly sweet finish with a lingering fruit note.
