The Glenlivet – 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 40%)

The Glenlivet 15 Year Old is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. A proportion of the spirit is matured in French oak casks, made from Limousin oak cut in the Dordogne region of France, where it is often used for maturing cognac. The Glenlivet was one of the first to use French oak for whisky, and the time in cask is controlled so the wood does not overpower the spirit, aiming for a pleasing spiciness. The colour is deep, intense gold. The nose is creamy, rich and buttery, the palate shows fruit and nut, and the finish is lingering, with sweet almond and spice.
