The Glenlivet – 18 Years of Age Batch Reserve (70cl, 40%)

The Glenlivet 18 Years of Age Batch Reserve is a single malt bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Over the 18 years, Master Distiller Alan Winchester takes it through a mix of casks: first and second-fill American oak, and ex-sherry oak. The American oak contributes tropical fruit, while the sherry oak adds spicy complexity. The result is a malt that is complex yet elegant and balanced, old gold to apricot in colour. The nose offers rich fruit and toffee. The palate is balanced, with bursts of sweet orange, and the finish is long, with raisins and spice.
