The Glenlivet 21 Year Old The Sample Room Collection is a Speyside single malt at 43% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The name draws on the Sample Room at the distillery, where the whisky makers assess casks.
It is matured in a combination of oak casks, then finished in hand-selected first-fill Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose offers dried apricots, ripe figs, orange marmalade, toasted almonds and toffee, with hints of cinnamon and polished oak. The palate brings dark chocolate, caramelised nuts, honey, raisins, baked orchard fruits and baking spices. The finish is long, with sweet oak, dried fruit and gentle spice.
