The Glenlivet Captain's Reserve is a Speyside single malt, introduced at the Speyside festival. It was matured in ex-bourbon and sherry casks, then finished for six months in ex-Cognac casks.
The name honours Captain William (Bill) Smith Grant, a great-grandson of The Glenlivet's founder, George Smith. He fought in France in the First World War and kept a particular bond with the country.
The tasting notes describe mandarins in syrup, ripe poached pears and chocolate-dipped raisins.
